Josh Usmani was born in Cleveland, OH in the spring of 1985. He received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Painting from Cleveland State University in 2013. Since 2008, his artwork has been featured in over 100 local and regional art exhibitions – including 78th Street Studios, Case Western Reserve University, Ursuline College, Waterloo Arts, SPACES, the 50/50 Show, Sandusky Cultural Center, gallery One Sixty, Breakneck gallery and many more. Major exhibitions include Who the Hell is Josh Usmani? at Breakneck gallery (2011), Funny Money at Naji, Naji and Tekler (78th Street Studios, 2012), Pen Pals at gallery One Sixty (2013) and FUNNY MONEY II at Tregoning & Company (78th Street Studios, 2015). He has also curated exhibitions around Northeast Ohio – including Controversy at Zaller gallery (2011), Metamorphosis at Waterloo Arts (2012) and CSU@CWAL at 78th Street Studios (2013). Josh is also the Visual Arts Editor at Cleveland Scene Magazine. Previously, he wrote art-related articles for Cool Cleveland. Additionally, he teaches Cartooning classes for kids at
Campus International School,Cleveland Institute of Art, Orange Art Center and more.
